In December 2014’s, Teia stops working as an audiovisual colective and its members renamed itself as Espaço Teia, an audivisual researched center, who hosts four different productions centers: Anavilhana, Fractais, Pablo Lobato Studio e Tandera. Since 2015, the works developed at Espaço Teia are signed for each artist or production itself. The spirit that gave rise and the ideas exchanged by group in these 12 years of existence is still alive, however in this new configuration, which allows more freedom to the artists.
Its last formation were composed by Clarissa Campolina, Leonardo Barcelos, Pablo Lobato, Sérgio Borges and by the producer Luana Melgaço; Marília Rocha was a member of the colective until 2013, Helvécio Marins Jr. until 2011, besides Bruno Pacheco and Cristiano Simões who were members in the beginning.
Since its creation were realized exhibitions, workshops, debates and its been made more than 50 works, that goes between shortcuts, feature films and installations, combining productions and personal researches with works which involved the other members and also some guests.
The works of Teia had been exhibited and prizewinners in some of the most importants film festivals in Brazil (Festival de Brasília, Festival do Rio, Mostra de Tiradentes, É tudo verdade, etc.); internationals (Venice, Toronto, San Sebastian, Locarno, Rotterdam, Sundance, Karlovy Vary, etc.), in addition to being displayed and installed in museums, such as MoMa and New Museum (NY), Musée d’ethnographie Neuchâtel (Switzerland), Tamayo museum (Mexico), Inhotim (Brazil) among others.
As a result of Teia’s 10th birthday, a bilingual book was made Teia 2002-2012, which contains unpublished texts written by critics, researchers and filmmakers, building a critical repertoire on the production of Teia and, more broadly, about the recent Brazilian cinema.
